Visual Language – Week 11

The site i choose is www.chelseafc.com

Talking of website, only few things could change someone’s mind. It could be the simplicity, typography, layout, colour and the conventional usability of the site.

Simplicity

Simplicity is the feature a good website must posses because the simplicity of the a website is the first impression given to a new visitor to the site. If a webpage is complicated, it gets boring to the user, especially the first time user of the site. A good web designer will always put the end-users into consideration when designning a website because they know that its all about them and what they would like.

Typography

For a professional website, there are types of fonts that are acceptable and a web designer considers that as a priority. Serif and San-Serif are considered to be the most appropriate typeface to use because its bold and officially accepted. Chelsea websites contain helvetica font as the prefered typeface and there is consistency in the use of the font in all the pages.

Layout

The layout of the pages is professional, a good use of tables, a proper positioning of flash video, pictures for slide and other stuff within the site. This website remains a masterpiece as it layout brings out the beauty of the site. The site contains lots of  information but the arrangement is well done. Proper positioning of important information

Color

The color combination is brilliant!

The good choice of blue and black though that’s chelsea’s brand anyway. I love the blend of the 2 colors which looks really cool and pleasing, also there no harsh color in use as every of the color used gives the website its uniqueness.
